The Start of the Zombie War for us… (Part 2)

I was smashed hard against the bulkhead and then the pressure released as the Zombie was ripped away from me by a tractor beam put out by Prometheus. I yelled for her to help the others as they are weaker and I could feel her torment as she released the Zombie Gods to focus on helping the others. I told her to leave me alone… (That was almost my undoing!)

The Zombie God said, “Your girlfriend is strong, but we fight man to god!” With that he leaped again at me and this time I was ready. I planted the sword deep in his chest and he repelled like he was hit by lightning. The look on his face was priceless and he knew then that I was not just a human…

He looked down at the wound in his chest and I saw it healing, but slowly. Blood dripped from his wound and I could tell that he had never met someone other than a god who could sting back…

Then in his hand appeared a sword and on his other arm a shield…

I found my equal in a sword battle…

For what seemed like hours, I could not do anything but fight. As I was offensive, his defense blocked it, as he was offensive, my defense blocked it. This went on for ever. I had deep scratches all over my armor and he had deep gouges on his body. He healed fast than my armor and neither one of us had the advantage…

His shield was as strong as mine and his sword was the equal and while his sword moaned for my blood, mine screamed for his. Every time the swords would meet each other or the shields. Frustrated sounds of hate would fill the air as they got more and more pissed off at no blood being spilled for their pleasure…

I kept thinking that he is a Zombie and he has to have a weakness that I can exploit…

I was as strong as he was, but he was so much more massive than me. I was as fast as he was and as determined as he was…

My mind wandered to what was happening with the others. I figured they were all dead because no one has come to see if I am dead or alive and Prometheus has been very quiet…

Then I heard Bear/Dogg roar through the door to the bridge and the door bowed inward by an impact. I knew that was Bear/Dogg. I looked at the Zombie God as he looked at me. Then the Zombie God tried to transport from the bridge and he was not able too. I realized that Prometheus was blocking him from leaving. I could see the confusion in his eyes as he tried again. Yup she was a good girl…

I yelled, “Prometheus where have you been?” She responded, “You told me to leave you alone! So I left you alone!”

Then the door almost ripped open as Bear/Dogg slammed it again and the third time not even Prometheus could stop Bear/Dogg. The door shredded and her came in roaring like a freight train on a run away track…

The Zombie God threw his sword at me as hard as he could! I verily got my shield hp in time and the sword actually penetrated my shield all the way to the hilt. The point was embedded in my suit of armor and as the shield was in the way I did not see what the Zombie God was doing. He was going to slam my shield and try to drive his sword stuck in it through me…

Bear saw what he was doing and as fast as a bear after honey, he smashed the Zombie God against the bulkhead so hard that the Zombie God split the hull of the ship and the oxygen started to leak out at a furious pace. As you know the vacuum of space does not care who you are and if you are living at all. It will boil you into the vastness and nothing living can withstand the pressures, of deep space…

The Zombie God was slowly, painfully and un -remorsefully ripped into space one cell at a time and the stream of cells grew into a stream of liquid and then grew into chucks of body as the hole grew larger. The look on the Zombie Gods face was one of realization for me, that I do not want to die this way. Flesh meeting space? Space wins…

I walked over to him and said, “You fought well!” Then I took his head off and let my sword take his soul…

His body ripped through the hole in the hull of the ship and I yelled to Prometheus to seal the hole. Ad soon as the Zombie God was completely sucked out into space. The hole sealed up like nothing had happened. The blood disappeared and all was calm…

Then the soul and energy of the Zombie God hit me. It seems that out in space that the energy was stronger. I was taken to my knees and luckily I got the sword stuck in my suit out. I tossed the shield aside with the Zombie God sword and my sword fed me the remains of the Zombies energy after it feasted and became happy again…

I pulled the sword from my shield and I stood there with one sword in each hand. Then from the Zombie Gods sword flowed all the death that had ever been collected by the sword. I was weakened from everything and this finished me off. The two swords in my hands clashed together and before my eyes they became one sword. A sword that sang a different tune as it desired blood. As I hit the ground passing out. I saw the two shields merging together and becoming one. Then I was out cold…

I woke up laying in my bed and everyone was standing staring at me like I had died or something. When Dogg saw me move he jumped up on the bed and started to lick my face and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. I heard Prometheus babbling her head off at the fact that I was still amongst the living. I guess I was really out of this universe or something. I was told by Ben that I had no heart beat and no life force. Prometheus was frantic and it was everything that they could do to calm her and keep her from destroying herself…

I will finish the story tomorrow as there is a few things that I have to think of and I really have to decide how to fight. It seems that at times I can just destroy all who fight me and at a time like this we were equal. But then Bear/Dogg comes and smashes him like a leaf in the wind. I do know that Bear/Dogg weighs at least 4000 pounds or two tons and that my friend is a lot of power in one little body…

It feel like I need to connect better with my suit for I know that I am stronger than this. My suit has no limitations and I think that my mind does, hence my suit has limitations. I could have died today…

The Zombie Source Code…

Naukan: Let God Protect this Village for we have buried her secretes…

*** Zighile is going to reanimate the dead reanimated army of over 10,000,000 creatures that have been conveniently all placed in one spot just for his convenience to reanimate. OMG: It is one thing to reanimate the dead and still be able to kill them again, but quiet another thing to have the dead reanimate again and again and again… ***

Well we just got back from an excursion to the village of Naukan…

Dogg and Rex took the high ground and Ben, Sargey and I took the lower ground. Dogg showed that he could also change into a huge, I mean huge, like in (Did I say Huge?) gigantic Eagle. He then grabbed Rex and they few off to the village 10 kn away. So as we watched them disappear into the morning sunrise. Sergey said lets hit the tunnels…

I was thinking as we walked to the stairs leading to the tunnels, that I hope Dogg and Rex leave some Zombies for us to play with and as Serge opened the door to the tunnel, I could smell the sent of rotten death reeking from the open doorway and I knew that we would have our share right then. Zombies were infested in the tunnel…

I asked Sergey, “Did you bury saints down here like you do upstairs?” Sergey replied, “Oh yes! In fact most were buried or reburied in this tunnel.” He then said, “Oops!” as I cut a Zombie Saint down the middle and extinguished its light of rebirth forever…

Sergey said to keep them busy a second while he gets the lights turned on and gets his sword he has hidden. Ben said, “Hurry because it sounds like there is hundreds of them.” I just turned to the task of slicing and dicing with my machete. The Chinese Broad Sword was too big for the small confines of a tunnel and trying to use it would be dangerous to both me and my friends. Ben’s sword was just right and I had the ceramic Mexican machetes to deal havoc with and more. I was wishing that Dogg and Rex was here about now and that was reenforced as…

Just then the lights came on and the tunnel was revealed to be wall to wall Zombies. Tiny little Zombies about 4 foot tall. It seems that a long time ago people were much smaller than now days and Saints seem to be smaller yet! They all had on these beautiful robes that all Saints are adorned with at burial. They also were covered in gold! I wondered if God will forgive me to kill these Saints, but any doubt was put out of my mind as Sergey pushed past us and with a double swipe of each arm he laid to rest 5 Zombies. Sergey said, “Don’t just stand there. I am not killing all of these by myself, you know?” Ben looked at me and I looked at Ben and I said, “You take position next to Sergey and I will take the mob of Zombies that has just gathered at our rear!”

Ben turned and screamed like a little kid and Sergey looked at him like are you nuts? I am use to Ben’s outputs like that and I know that he is tough as nails. Sergey soon found out about Ben…

It looks like the dead had all risen in the tunnel and they were all coming to greet us and the more noise we made, the more Zombies there seem to be. We were not 10 feet from the door we entered and had been fighting for 20 minutes for all our lives. I hope that Dogg and Rex are doing better than us. I laughed as I thought about Dogg and Rex fighting over a Zombie head as they waited for us to show up from the tunnel… 🙂

It was a bloodless battle for these Zombies where preserved many many years ago and they were mummified type Zombies. Their skin was leathery and no fluids were available, but that did not make it any easier to kill them. In fact they proved to be tougher than a normal Zombie that had body fluids to leak out. It seems that they functioned on a different level than normal Zombies. I know as a fact that normal Zombies still have blood and it still has a function and as you chop a Zombie up in pieces. That deters the ability of the Zombie to function. Same as cutting a hydrological line and the backhoe stops working, or the bulldozer ceases to function…

These little guys would try to kill you with their little finger if that is all they had left to fight with. We had body parts scattered everywhere and all those parts just kept on trying to get us. It was really kinda sick…

Then I saw something that made me cry out like a little girl and when Sergey turned to see what I was screaming about. He saw what I saw…

The pieces of chopped up Saint Zombies were re attaching themselves to the original body and growing back together. In the case of the Zombie that I had cut in half, we had two almost reformed Zombies getting back up from the tunnel floor as I stared at them. All got quiet as we watched every Zombie that we had killed reanimate into a new Zombie. In fact we now had three times the number of Zombies and they would all want to kill us…

Ben said, “We need to run as the trance they are in will cease in a second and resume their attack. They are using their energy to re grown new Zombies. Do not touch them any more than you have too and lets run like crazy.” So we got the door back open and slammed it shut and bolted it so that no Zombie could come out. That is when I said, “Are those the reanimated, reanimated Zombies of Zighile?”

Ben said, “No! They are just very powerful Saints that have different energies than a normal Zombie, but I am sure that Zighile is going to use the same process to do what he wants to do. That may be why he stopped here and I am sure that he has several of these Zombies with him right now! They are the answer to reanimating the reanimated dead…”

I asked Sergey about the exits to this tunnel and he responded that only one way out is possible and that is at the village. Sergey told us to stay back and he released a lever that made a huge stone wall slide over the door way that we had gone into earlier. It seal the entrance to the tunnel forever on this side. Then Sergey said that we need to hurry to get to the other side and stop these Saint Zombies from escaping. Ben then said that if they escape they have the power of a Source Code Zombie and they will spread the Zombification process like wildfire, if they ever get into a populated area. It looked like we had a race on our hands to the other end of the tunnel, because if Dogg and Rex were fighting these things and they were multiplying? Then we could have a small army already at that end…

We piled on the snowmobiles and took off. When we got to the other end, it was as feared. Zombies everywhere surrounding 20 Eskimos, plus Rex and a Dogg/Bear that was smashing Zombies like flies with a fly swatter. Just to see them get back up and keep crawling toward them to eat the group of valiant fighters…

More Zombies were coming out of this doorway that led into a small church and that I knew was where the exit was. My plan was to try to get these Zombies back into the tunnel and seal the tunnel off…

I without thinking told Ben and Sergey to help the Eskimos and Dogg and Rex. When they fought through the crowd of Zombies and were with the group, I tossed a grenade to the side into a drift of snow. The noise defined everyone and did what I needed to have done. All Zombies are attracted to noise and the louder the better. They all tuned to face me and I started to yell at them to come and get me. Ben, Sergey and everyone else just stared at what I was doing. I think they were dumbfounded…

The only one that did not freeze was my buddy Dogg and he changed into Dogg again and ran like lightening to be by my side. He knew what I was doing and started to bark. Then Rex came and he started to bark. I motioned for Ben and Sergey to stay where they were at. The Zombies were all coming for us and we were fighting our way back into the tunnel. I yelled at Dogg that he was not to change into a bear yet. We want the Zombies to all come with us…

Now we had blood everywhere. For we were being bit scratched and tore up. There had to have been 500 Zombies and more were trying to push their way to eat us. We were the prize of the day…

The last Zombie came into the open door way of the church and I was just able to reach the door handle. I yanked it shut as a Zombie bit me on the back and as I slammed the door shut. I screamed the most bloodcurdling war cry I could scream and decided to die taking all these Zombies with me…

I had five grenades left and I tossed one deep into the open tunnel entrance and we had Zombie parts everywhere. I told Dogg to get his bear and ram the Zombies back into the tunnel. I told Rex to keep the Zombies from biting me to death…

Bear/Dogg is impressive and he is a ton of raw muscle that has been given to us by the gods. Dogg smashed and drug Zombies and smashed and squished Zombies. He was slowly but surly stuffing Zombies back into the tunnel, one piece at a time, literally…

I made a huge effort and cut down 10 Zombies that were still milling around out of Bears reach and then started a fire. I took a flare and started to burn what ever would burn, Even the wooden cross and statue of Jesus that was on the wall. I know that I will be going to hell and I most likely sealed that fate for sure, right then and there, but hey I needed something to burn. Zombies hate fire and these Zombies had to go back into the tunnel…

The top of the church had a huge open area and it was full of bells, so I had ventilation to keep a big fire going. The smoke went up and out. I fed all the wood and paper that I could find and then once that fire was super hot. I started to burn the Zombies body parts that were trying to re grow into a new Zombie…

Bear was almost at the point of being over run again by moaning Saint Zombies. I told Rex to help Dogg/Bear. Rex threw himself into the fight with bear and they help their own. I was attacked by a Saint Zombie that I did not know was there and he bit down on my arm. Damn that hurt and I really do hope that I am immune to these ass holes…

I spun around and grabbed the little guy by the neck and held him up. It was chomping at me and lucky all it got was some of my shirt I had on, in its mouth. It wanted more though. I tossed it full on into the fire. It started to scream like I have never heard a Zombie scream. As it tried to get out of the fire I kept kicking it back and making it scream more and more. I realized that all was quiet behind me at the tunnel entrance. I turned after kicking the Zombie again into the fire and saw Zombies including Rex and Bear/Dogg staring at me. They were silent…

The Zombie tried to get up out of the fire again and I once more kicked it back into the fire…

Then I turned and yelled at the Zombies, “Back, Back, Back you demons from hell! Back into the tunnel! Or I will burn everyone of you!”

Guess what they all went back into the tunnel!

I told Dogg and Rex to go to the front door of the church. I then grabbed the Saint Zombie that got out of the fire for the 10th time by the neck and tossed him into the tunnel with the other Zombies. I noticed that above the tunnel entrance was a huge statue of a Saint of some type. It was a she and she had a child in her arms. As I tossed 4 grenades into the tunnel entrance. I hope that God would forgive me and that if this was Mary and Jesus, please let them be strong enough to keep the 500 plus Zombies buried forever…

I hit the front door and Dogg and Rex tumbled out with me as the grenades went off. I saw through the open door as the statue fell down on top of the tunnel entrance and then a rumble happened. The whole church caved in and fell into a mound of rubble. That sealed the tunnel off for good…

I will continue later with the story because that is not all. We are all back at the monastery and it seems that the Eskimos that survived will be coming with us. They have heard of the Stryker from America and that he is a god of war. It seems that my escapades did little to dissuade them in their thoughts and they now will follow me because they own their lives to me. Of course Ben, Sergey, Dogg and Rex are honorary demigods as they are with me…

The call is out and the Eskimos of Russia are coming to help us in our quest to save the world…

I was just thinking back to when Zombies where just a issue that I could take care of by just cutting off their heads and how things have become so complicated that I am not sure what is real or not anymore…

But Reality spoke to me as Ben sat down next to me a few minutes ago…

Ben Said, “Can you stop 15,000,000? Because I have it by good sources, that Zighile is two days away from the volcano and we are a week away!”

I said, “He is just a little ways in front of us.”

Ben said, “Yes but he has left a trail of Zombies all the way there and they will be ready to fight us every step of the way.” Ben also said, “You would be surprised at how many Zombies there are buried in the wilderness of Russia and they are all waking up to do Zighile’s bidding…”

We have got to figure out how to kill a reanimated, reanimating Zombie now. The ante was just upped a whole bunch in the last few days. I hope we can call the ante and not fold the cards as of now. Zighile has to be stopped in the Volcano because once he gets out of that volcano then the earth is lost…

I had a dream last night that I had to kill my Daughter and she just said, “It’s okay daddy! I understand and so does mommy! It’s okay daddy! The cuts will stop and the pain will end! It will end the Zombies! It is okay daddy…”

We bury Dogg – Eskimo Style……

*** Talk to you later. Ben says, “You will hear my war cry as I enter the fight today, even from where you are reading this article. Just listen carefully and you will hear the cry’s of the damned! The one’s damned for hurting Dogg…” ***

I have tears in my eyes as I write this! Ben is curled up in a ball in the corner of the base and trying to gather his thoughts about all that has happened. I am just going to try to think about what the kindly old Eskimo gentleman showed us and hope for the best…

True to Ben’s words as we stepped into the last round of this battle. He made the ones left alive suffer for what they did to Dogg. They had chopped Dogg into pieces and tried to burn the parts. When I found Dogg’s remains I gathered all I found and wrapped him up in a blanket. Ben screamed a blood curdling scream and finished by himself what the government guys had started…

The whole story later after we are done here. I promise…

Now about the Eskimo guy…

I had carried Dogg’s body out of the building and was surprised by an elderly gentleman that was standing surveying the damage and destruction. His eyes alighted upon the bundle that I carried and his face darkened with deep concern. It was as if he knew what was wrapped up in my arms. I had stopped walking and was staring at the Eskimo and felt some sort of power emanating from this man. He walked up to me and held out his hands and wanted to take Dogg…

For some reason I gave Dogg to him without question and he walked away with our Zombie killing Dogg. That was when tears started to run down my face and I could not stop them. I also heard the last scream and cry of a man dying at the hands of Ben. Ben stepped out from the building and I have to tell you he was a mess. I would say a hundred bullet holes and he was soaked in blood. Not all his I may add…

Ben watched as I did as the old Eskimo walked away from us. We looked at each other and together we followed the man. That is when we silently watched the old Eskimo put the pieces of Dogg back together and stitched all parts together the best he could. He was so kind and gentle with the body. Then as Ben and I stood silent and watched a dozen more Eskimos came and surrounded the old guy. They then built a burial grave on pilings out in the open field. Dogg was laid to rest by the Eskimo’s and then they started a ritual that is only known to them. Ben and I looked on and finally we had enough! I was bleeding to death and Ben was ready to drop from exhaustion…

Later the old Eskimo found us in the building that we had taken refuge in. I had built a fire and dragged all the bodies outside to be frozen by the harsh Alaskan Winter. He spoke very good English and touched us both on the heads. As he touched us he said something in his language and we could feel some of the pain leave us. In our minds appeared a message in a video form. It was of Dogg running and playing in a field of green grass. I also understood that we are to wait and be patient until whatever it is that he is doing is done. ???

Two Eskimo girls have stayed with us and fixed food and cleaned the place up. They cleaned our wounds and fixed us a place to sleep. They told us in broken English that we must be good for 2 days! The energies of evil need time to disperse and be propagated properly by the energies of good. They said Dogg is running the fields of his ancestors and only the gods can decide what happens now…

I promise to get back and I have called Vitaly of Death and found out that he is in Anchorage and told me to do what I am told. He said that powers of the Indians are very strong and that this Eskimo has been sent to help us. We must do as we are told. Vitaly of Death said that he is fine and will wait until we get there…

So: I have tears in my eyes as I write this! Ben is curled up in a ball in the corner of the base and trying to gather his thoughts about all that has happened. I am just going to try to think about what the kindly old Eskimo gentleman showed us and hope for the best…

PS: I had a vision that my governmental group that I work with, turned coated on me. That they are the ones that sent the agents on us. Remember I called and talked to them not long ago and they are the only ones who could have known to try to kill us. Time to do some thinking’s…

Zombies – Getting too Old for This…

I took Dogg and he and I went searching for the leader Zombie. Dogg is great at sniffing them out from a long ways off and I like the advantage that gives me. I had an idea that I could find the leader Zombie in an old run down factory on the outskirts of the city. I went at night knowing that a leader Zombie would have a headquarters set up and it would most likely be lit up. You see a leader Zombie is not a whole lot different than you or I and with proper makeup to cover the blue tinge that the body has, you have no way of telling that they are dead…

A leader Zombie will fake breathing and eats normal food. All functions of the leader Zombie body can be kept going including the heart and pumping blood. A leader Zombie is cold to the touch, (like your wife’s feet are at night!) and blueish color because of the blood is blue in the veins. They also are very strong, fast and heal quickly. Oh by the way they can not die except by brain destruction. Even chopping the head off does not kill them and if you attach the head back to the body it will reanimate as a very pissed off Zombie…

So Dogg and I made a trip to the factory. As I suspected I saw a window lit up high in the 12 story tower that is part of the factory. The way dogg was acting I knew that we had Zombies nearby…

Since Dogg like all dogs are immune to what ever makes a Zombie a Zombie, I do not have to worry about him. He is 15 kilos of Zombie killing Doggy. I took him too a dentist that implanted special titanium teeth razor sharp and I had a special flak jacket made to protect his body. He enjoys Zombie steaks and cutlets and gets really excited when we go for a Zombie walk. He knows when we are on a Zombie walk because I have my special walking stick and a Black Kukri-style machete with a carbon-steel blade. It is razor sharp and cuts neck bones like butter…

I told Dogg to scout around and kill. Then while he went silently to mess up some Zombies I planned what I was going to do. I knew that there had to be a leader Zombie up that tower and I had to get him before we had big issues in the area…

When I heard the first Zombie kill by my dog I knew it was time to go. Every Zombie would be tracking Dogg and leave the way open for me to find my target. So I was in the tower in less than a minute and found some stairs leading upward. I found that the stairs just creaked no matter what I did and decided that time for stealth was past and that I would kill what ever I found as quickly as possible. I knew that the leader would be over confident and he would not run. He knows that I am alone, I am sure of that…

As I climbed the stairs I could hear Dogg growling amongst the few growls and moans of the Zombies outside and I hoped that Dogg would be okay. I then heard a sharp command from a person on the other side of a door at the end of the hallway that I just entered from the top of the stairway.  I knew I had a leader because he talked very normal. He was barking commands to several Zombies that were in the room with him. I decided that 4 Zombies total were in the room. I could see light coming from under the closed door and shadows moving in the room…

My walking stick was a modified cattle prod that delivered 4 massive electric shocks that would kill a human or stun a Zombie. My past tactic was to stun a Zombie and behead it. A stunned Zombie was down for 10 to 15 minutes and so I realized that in this instance, I had to stun first and kill later. I kicked the door open and walked into…

12 Zombies and one was a bad ass huge leader Zombie. I said hi and lets die. Because I had stepped over the Rubicon and there was no going back. The leader Zombie stepped against the back wall and let his biddies come after me. I saw the windows was open and I screamed for Dogg. I hope he heard because I needed his titanium teeth right now…

I shocked the first 4 Zombies with my walking stick and as I knew would happen that was all she wrote and I tossed it to the ground. (I gotta get better batteries!) Then the next 4 beheaded like a hot knife through butter and as I turned to face a few more. The leader Zombie smacked me across the room with a huge backhanded slap. (damn that hurt) I have an emergency backup weapon and it is strapped to my right ankle. It is a 9mm Beretta with 10 rounds of saber point Winchester. I consider this an emergency and did not care if the gunshots brought the cops…

One Zombie had hold of my right foot and as I squeezed the trigger of my gun. I told myself, head shots, head shots, head shots and make them count. I made them count the best I could and was laying there looking up at a leader Zombie. He was really pissed off. For you see all his Zombie friends were dead at this point or stunned…

But I was out of bullets and clicking the hammer on an empty gun. That is when Dogg figured out where I was at and entered the room behind the leader Zombie. I heard a deep growl by Dogg and saw that Dogg had enjoyed himself. He was covered in blue blood…

The leader Zombie turned to see who was growling at him and I grabbed the hilt of my machete and brought the machete in an upward motion as hard as I could between his legs and into his family jewels. Now I knew that family jewels meant nothing to a regular Zombie, because I have kicked them their before. They did not care. But I was hoping that a leader Zombie had different feelings about those jewels. He did and I found a new way to bring a tough leader Zombie to his knees. Dogg of course proceeded to go for his throat and I let Dogg have his fun while I finished the first 4 Zombies that I had stunned. They where starting to stir…

I then called Dogg off and proceeded to split the leader Zombies head down the middle. Then chop it into smaller pieces. Dogg was happy and I said lets go home…

As I have said before, nothing on the news about this incident. Nothing is ever on the news about these incidents. That is how I know that the government knows there are Zombies and they know that someone kills them. But they do not let it out into the public. Also if anyone comes forth with the fact that there is Zombies then they are labeled insane and crazy. Most people believe that Zombies are a good Hollywood movie but never ever would be real…

Well I am going to bed and really just wanted to get the information down before I would forget most of it. I did learn something from this! I got to get better weapons and I am getting too old for this… 🙂

Stryke
The Zombie Source Code

PS: Oh! By the way Dogg had cleaned up the Zombies outside real well and all I had to do was split their heads open as we left. He is a good doggy…

When I met my first Zombie(s)…

Hello, my name is Stryker and welcome to the Zombie Source Code…

I am not sure why I started this diary except to get the message out about Zombies. So since there is no true rhyme or reason to the pattern of the diary yet. We will start with, “When I met my first Zombie(s)…”

I met my first Zombie at a cemetery. I was visiting an old friend who had died in the war with me. In fact his body, which was in the way of the shrapnel, was what saved my life. So I felt that I owed him a visit on a regular basis after my tour of duty was over. It was during one of these visits that I met my first Zombie…

I can honestly tell you that I do not get scared easy so I do not panic and that is why I am still alive after all the fighting that I have seen and been through. I also have an inner sense that protects me in moments of trouble. It is those things about me that saved me once again. I just turned my head just out of the way of a swiping claw, that I felt coming my way and stepped quickly back to watch a very disgusting looking humanoid creature stumble and fall at my feet. It fell right on top my friends grave. Instinct took over and I looked around to see if anything else was about. Yes – There was! About 100 meters away near a clump of trees in the distance, was another lurking figure. I kept that knowledge in my memory for future reference and turned my attention back to the wiggling mass of crud at my feet…

I realized it was trying to get up and that it was a decayed body. I have seen plenty of decayed bodies but none of them ever tried to get up from the ground…

I put my boot on the back of its neck and shoved it back to the ground face down. I then took stock of the “other thing” in the trees and realized that it was starting to slowly coming toward me. Very quiet and like a slow turtle it shuffled my way. I stomped all 300 lbs down on the neck of the creature that I was standing on. The neck cracked like a dry twig and the head separated from the body. But the spinal cord was still attached and the thing was not dead just incapacitated. I turned toward the slowly moving humanoid figure that was sighted on me and scanned the territory around me looking for a weapon. I saw a broken shovel handle near a newly dug grave. I walked over and saw that down in the newly dug hole that it looked like someone had come out from the grave next to it. I looked at the head stone and it said Gertrude born 1910, died 2001. I said out loud, “Gertrude” and the thing on the ground exploded with activity whipping its head back and forth. It tried to get up again but the head ripped off completely and that ended its existence. Well I guess that was Gertrude…

Then I realized that even though the other one was very slow, it had reached me and I could hear a hissing noise as it tried to pump air in and out of its dried lungs…

I looked at it closely and  realized that it was literally harmless. It had no lower jaw, one arm was missing, a leg was dragging behind it and it only had one eye. I smacked it with the shovel handle and it fell into the open grave. It wiggled on the bottom as I decided what to do. I looked at the head stone that was already in place at the head of the grave. It said, Robert Wilkes. I said softly, “Sorry Robert” and walked behind the standing head stone and pushed it into the open grave. With a satisfying splat and crack. The thing at the bottom of the hole was suddenly very still…

I looked around for anyone else and contemplated about what happened, while I studied my surroundings for more issues. Having found nothing to get excited about, I sat on a big head stone and did some thinking’s. I just wished I had a cup of coffee, because I do my best thinking’s with coffee.  It was at that moment that I realized that I had just killed two Zombies…

I then realized that this looked like I was trying to steal bodies and decided to get out of there and go home. No one would believe me and truthfully I did not believe myself either. So I took the handle of the shovel and walked back to my car. I decided to stop at the local coffee shop and get a coffee. It seems that I needed a coffee right now… 🙂

This was many many years ago and it was the first time that I had seen something like that. It was not the last time, because once you have seen one (Zombie) it will seem like the saying, “When it rains it pours!” becomes a fact. Then Zombies seem to be everywhere. I never heard a word about this incident in the news and you will come to realize that you will never hear about these incidences. I have also decided that most humans ignore so much around them that they never stop to notice that Zombies are all around them, all the time. If a Zombie was fast and intelligent then we would be in trouble. Also if wild animals did not like hunt them and pick their bones clean, then we would have many many more around…

These are all issues that are changing and will be addressed as I continue my writings…
